My 2 biggest regrets in fundraising as a missionary
We didn't do things with the right emphasis throughout our fundraising journey. Now years later I can see how that has affected us. Don't make these same mistakes we made.
Many Christians today don't realize that their thinking is affected by humanism. We are taught from a young age to embrace reason when we are given truth not through reason but through revelation. If we want to live fully and faithfully for God, we must be willing to receive his discipline even when it doesn't make sense to us.
My goal on this channel is to remove obstacles from your YES to Jesus.
Following Jesus is more complicated that you might think. From when I first became a Christian, I struggled to understand what it meant to be a faithful follower of Jesus. Many Christians today seem too similar to the world. After twenty years of honest wrestling I have found the solution to my problem. It has to do with the struggle between two worldviews: humanism and revelation. Christians are often a confused mixture of the two and this leads to a complete breakdown in the maturity.

5 lies Satan will use to keep you stuck

Much of the time when we are stuck, it has to do with what lies we are believing. Today we are going to be talking about lies that Christian often believe about God and how we can practically find and replace those lies with truth. The test that told me I needed more freedom
Переглядів 309Рік тому
Following Jesus isn't easy, there are so many obstacles, some outside of ourselves, in our circumstances and surroundings. But many more inside of us, in our thinking. God wants us to be free, and he has made a way for us to be free, so why are we still bound up in these addictions and issues? The answer lies in our thinking. We need to realize the truth in a knowledge way, in a way that addres...

Labeling healthy dialogue between two voices that differ on opinions isn’t arguing, it’s a way to grow mentally and spiritually. Anyone who tries to sway you away from using your brain means they want to control your brain; don’t drink the Flavoraide, never stop having healthy discussions with those to don’t mirror your own ideas. If God didn’t want us to think and converse, it would not have given us brains and the ability to speak.

Bill Cooper said the Illuminati are Humanist and the that's what the new promoted one world religion will be once they eliminate all the other beliefs and those who follow them. At least that's the plan I can't imagine it working but if people don't wake up and quick it will be irrelevant.

As someone who was in YWAM for 4 years and then left because I was not biblically equipped to do overseas missions, my concern with what you have shared and I mean this with all respect because yes YWAM is doing good things due to the sovereignty of God. But when we look at the bible, is it wise to be sending very young, spiritually immature believers into countries to start churches, missions organizations, and ministries? I see students who are biblically illiterate and then cling to zealous, outward appearance in "doing" for the Lord through emotionalism, experiences and mystic teaching. I see students who have good but big vision and then get stuck because they are not equipped for what they "feel" God is calling them to. I see unbiblical teachings that cause confusion and concern for young believers. Man has responsibility in making choices in the moral will of God. If students don't understand that or if they are not rooted in sound biblical doctrine/systematic theology, their decision making aka "I heard from God" will come from a skewed perspective of who God is and their decisions wont be wise. Luckily I left and was able to go study the bible at school. I would encourage you as a leader because that's where I was, to take a deep look into the roots of the theology of YWAM and ask yourself the hard questions. To open your bible and do the hard work because a lot of what YWAM is teaching is not good and has caused a lot of damage not only in my life but the lives of thousands of people. When we add or take away from the Gospel, it is not a saving message. When we teach things that are idolatry, it is not a saving message. When we teach experience, it is not a saving message. If we are called to "Go and make Disciples", and that's the point of DTS, then we need to be making mature, bibilically sound, spiritually reverent, disciplined, biblically literate, stable, steadfast and free by grace disciples.

Thank you for your comment. I can see you disagree but are being respectful. I have looked into the theology and teaching of YWAM and have found it very solid. I suggestion reading Values Matter. I found the YWAM locations I have staffed with don't execute these values perfectly, but there isn't anything wrong with the values. They are very solid and Biblical.

To paraphrase the immortal George Carlin. God doesn't want well informed well educated pepole capable of critical thinking. That's against his interest. What God wants is obedient worshipers who are just smart enough to understand his will/laws. And just dumb enough to not question it.

Hey Philip thank you for the honest assessment. Generally I believe envisioning God's leading is messy. It takes discernment and a certain amount of patience for that vision to coalesce into a path. This is true especially as volunteers begin to sense their role in that vision. Please don't apologize for the seeming incongruity incongruity

Jesus in the holy quran : 3.59] Truly, the likeness of (Prophet) Jesus with Allah, is as the likeness of Adam, He created him from dust then He said to him "Be" and he was [3.45] When the angels said: 'O Mary, Allah gives you glad tidings of a Word (Be) from Him, whose name is Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary. He shall be honored in this world and in the Everlasting Life and he shall be among those who are close. [19.35] It is not for Allah to take a son! Exaltations to Him! When He decrees a thing He only says: 'Be,' and it is. [19.34] Such was (Prophet) Jesus, the son of Mary. A saying of truth, concerning what they doubt. [4.171] People of the Book, do not exaggerate your religion. Do not say about Allah except the truth. Indeed, the Messiah, Jesus son of Mary, is only a Messenger (and Prophet) of Allah, and His Word (Be) which He gave to Mary, and a (created) spirit by Him. So believe in Allah and His Messengers and do not say: 'Trinity.' Refrain, it is better for you. Allah is only One God. Exaltations to Him that He should have son! To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and in the earth, it is sufficient that Allah is the Guardian. [5.75] The Messiah, the son of Mary, was not except a Messenger, other Messengers had gone before him. His mother was in the state of sincerity, they both ate food. See how We make plain to them Our signs. Then, see how perverted they are. [5.110] When Allah said: '(Prophet) Jesus, son of Mary, remember the favor upon you and on your mother; how I strengthened you with the Holy Spirit (Gabriel), to speak to people in your cradle and of age (when he descends and dies); how I taught you the Book and Wisdom, the Torah and the Gospel; and how, by My permission, you fashioned from clay the likeness of a bird, and breathed into it so that, by My permission, it became a living bird. How, by My permission, you healed the blind man and the leper, and by My permission you brought the dead forth; and how I protected you from the Children of Israel when you brought them clear signs; whereupon the unbelievers among them said: "This is nothing but plain magic". [61.6] And when (Prophet) Jesus, the son of Mary said: 'Children of Israel, I am sent to you by Allah to confirm the Torah that was before me, and to give news of a Messenger (Prophet Muhammad) who will come after me whose name shall be Ahmad.' Yet when he came to them with clear proofs, they said: 'This is clear sorcery.' [2.87] To Moses We gave the Book and after him We sent other Messengers. We gave (Prophet) Jesus, the son of Mary, veritable signs, and supported him with the Spirit of Purity (Gabriel). Will you then become proud whenever any Messenger comes to you with that which does not suit your fancies, and you belied some (Prophet Jesus) and killed others! [2.253] We sent other Messengers. We gave ‏(Prophet) Jesus, the son of Mary, veritable ‏signs, and supported him with the Spirit of ‏Purity (Gabriel). Will you then become proud ‏whenever any Messenger comes to you with ‏that which does not suit your fancies, and you ‏belied some (Prophet Jesus) and killed ‏others! ] [2.253] Of these Messengers, We have preferred some above others. To some Allah spoke; and some He raised in rank. We gave (Prophet) Jesus, the son of Mary, clear signs and strengthened him with the Spirit of Purity (Gabriel). Had Allah willed, those who succeeded them would not have fought against one another after the clear verses came to them. But they differed among themselves; some believed, and others disbelieved. Yet had Allah willed, they would not have fought against one another. Allah does whatever He will. [43.63] And when (Prophet) Jesus came with clear signs, he said: 'I have come to you with wisdom and to clarify to you some of the matters about which you differ. Fear Allah and obey me. [61.14] Believers, be the helpers of Allah. When (Prophet) Jesus, the son of Mary said to the disciples: 'Who will be my helpers unto Allah?' The disciples replied: 'We will be the helpers of Allah.' A party of the Children of Israel believed, and a party disbelieved. So, We supported those who believed against their enemy, and they overcame. [3.52] When (Prophet) Jesus felt their disbelief, he said: 'Who will be my helpers in the way of Allah?' The disciples replied: 'We are the helpers of Allah. We believe in Allah. Bear witness that we are submitters (Muslims). [3.55] Allah said: ' (Prophet) Jesus, I will take you to Me and will raise you to Me, and I will purify you from those who disbelieve. I will make your followers (who died before Prophet Muhammad) above those who disbelieve till the Day of Resurrection. Then, to Me you shall all return, and I shall judge between you as to that you were at variance. [5.116] And when Allah said: '(Prophet) Jesus, son of Mary, did you ever say to the people: "Take me and my mother for two gods, other than Allah?" 'Exaltations to You,' he said, 'how could I say that to which I have no right? If I had said that, You would have surely known. You know what is in my self, but I do not know what is in Yours. Indeed, You are the Knowledgeable of the unseen. [5.117] I spoke to them of nothing except that which You ordered me, that you worship Allah, my Lord and our Lord. I witnessed them whilst living in their midst and ever since You took me to You, You have been the Watcher over them. You are the Witness of everything. [5.72] The unbelievers are those who say: 'Allah is the Messiah, the son of Mary.' But the Messiah said: 'Children of Israel, worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord.' He who associates anything with Allah, Allah has indeed forbidden Paradise to him, and his abode shall be in the Fire. The harmdoers shall have no helpers. [5.73] Indeed those who say: 'Allah is the third of the Trinity’ became unbelievers. There is but One God. If they do not desist in what they say, a painful punishment will afflict those of them that disbelieve. [4.157] and for their saying, 'We killed the Messiah, Jesus the son of Mary, the Messenger (and Prophet) of Allah.' They did not kill him, nor did they crucify him, but to them, he (the crucified) had been given the look (of Prophet Jesus). Those who differ concerning him (Prophet Jesus) are surely in doubt regarding him, they have no knowledge of him, except the following of supposition, and (it is) a certainty they did not kill him. [4.158] Rather, Allah raised him up to Him. Allah is Almighty, the Wise.

Paul was the first to distort the religion of the Christians, Sheikh Rahmatullah Al-Hindi concluded his debate with Pastor Pfender with a conclusion about the origin of the Trinity in Christianity, how it entered it and who introduced it, and proving some mental and scientific evidence from their holy books to refute this trinity that they invented. He cited a part of that and then said: And with these explicit texts that call To monotheism, the Christians say of the Trinity, although Jesus, peace be upon him, did not speak of it and did not call for it. And that the first one who called for the Trinity and made it a creed was: Saul Paul, and that was in his saying: The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, and with you all. Uh. paul was a Jewish hater of jesus, thats why he faked his christian belief so that he get the chance to corrupt christianity by adding the paganism through the trinity concept and he did it !!! , he managed to fool millions of christians till this Day, but god has his own plans, thats why he sent prophet mohammed with the holy Qur'an to correct the false creeds and actions that both christians and jews did. i know that you feel that there is contradiction on the Bible, I'm not attacking your believe that was embedded with you and probably your family from young , I'm just proving that there is contradiction in the bible, and the ward of god should not have contradictions , Qur'an for example has no contradictions, read it and see for your self, but read it for the intention of seeking the truth and the truth only, god bless the seekers of the truth. and one last thing, christians today belive that god is the all knowing, at the same time they claim that jesus is the son of god and he is a god, so explain this to me,,,,, you believe that jesus doesn't know the hour of his arrival, so how is he a god then if he doesn't know !! god is the one and only god, and jesus is his messenger, and god created jesus from dust just like adam and said to him be and he has been created by god's word, jesus is not a god nor the son of god, he is a humen just like adam, both of them are human prophets, and the holy spirit is an angel that god created from light, not a god!! , so god is the one the almighty the most merciful the most kind , the most powerful, but when it comes to associating other false gods with him, he becames very angry, and will grant punishment for those who do that by forever stay in hell if they die before repenting to the one and only god from claiming that he have other gods along side him or in him.

Hey bud, you have a lot of potential through media and I want to reach out and let you know that I follow you not because of what you do but the fact that you step out in Faith and you are different from everyone else. I think you have a deep desire for teaching and I think you have a good grasp of, coming to God and I think just believing and accepting as hard as sometimes but overtime it will really shine because you have that heart to do whatever it takes to walk with God! yup, Daniel had to face a lot of trials and he had this perspective that like everyone else, but even though he was with the lions den, he still felt God’s peace and God’s love and just the assurance that God was with him.

Logic over God always. The bible has been written, rewritten, translated and edited by man as such it cannot be trusted..but logic now that’s trustworthy.

I hope you check this post. I was at the main base in Kailua Kona in '79 - '81. I played at Laurence Cunningham's apt with his kids. His mother in law showed me how to thread a needle. It was such an exciting time We had just gotten Kings Mansion and the first Mercy ship. The prophecies and vision that were talked about in Mr. Cunningham's book were coming true. My parents did a DTS and then helped to start Crossroads DTS as we talked and realized that there needed to be a separation from regular DTS for singles and for families. It's so true that there were teachings that crept in to all Churches during this time that could and would be dangerous. And YWAM was no exception. But When I graduated HS I went to Australia for my DTS in'87 and mission in the Philippines. Just having a time set aside for God was wonderful. I didn't want to continue as a missionary myself but the experience was unforgettable. I am so sad today to hear that different places and bases are causing harm. To go back to the simple motto that we had " to know God and make Him known " without all the other weird things would be my hearts desire.

The reality is that the harm and abuse is very minimal in terms of a percentage. Its present in all forms of humanity in these percentages. YWAM has just gotten that big. But most of the issues are relatively small. Though I believe should address them with great importance none-the-less.

It's interesting that you talk of 'mission in the Philippines' and the two connected comments are 'having time set aside for god was wonderful' and 'the experience was unforgettable'. That's the basic understanding anthropologically of what short term missions do. Nothing for the indigenous people, apart from harm, and plenty for the folks coming in with no language, no understanding of the culture, no skills of any use to the people there.

I was in YWAM Kona for almost two years in total. Did a DTS then a 9 month Rev and Ref school. And eventually went into the school of biblical studies then dropped out. YWAM has a lot of potential to do good but the lack of leadership, order, and infiltration of charismatic cult like tendencies, I honestly feel like it does more harm than good. There was so many fake signs and wonders and false prophicies spoken over people it's crazy. God can move powerfully in anyone's life no matter what season there in or what ministry they are connected to. I wish you the best along your journey in life man!

I sadly think you are mistaken. What is wrong about testing the concepts in the bible? What happend to «the truth shall set you free»? If it is the truth it must be able to withstand the testing (which I think it does by the way), but testing it is a good thing. Believing in it blindly is foolish, not wise. I only yesterday had a revelation about Jordan’s views on the bible and suddenly understood it a lot deeper. Jordan is proposing something much deeper and meaningful than most christians are. I feel most christians really look at God like the «sky daddy», and think they can understand Him. Jonathan pagaeu has a brillint speech on this subject. My faith is only stronger since I realised this truth about the narrative. I think that was what Jesus was talking about when he said «not everyone who says to me "Lord, Lord," shall enter the kingdom of heaven». What you believe is not really what you say you believe, it is what you act out. And who are any of us to measure ourselves up against Jordan Peterson? Maybe it is the «normal» christians who got it all wrong. The gate is narrow after all…

"It's focus on young people." Because that's Bible. Who focuses on the young? Who?

    • @PhilipDosa
      @PhilipDosa Місяць тому

Jesus picked young disciples. Paul has Timothy. David was young, so was Jeremiah and Joshua. Lots of examples of God using young people.

@@PhilipDosa My rhetorical question, "who focuses on young people?" was meant to underscore the cultish aspect of YWAM. Cults often target the young, because they lack information and life experience. Also they're innocent. It's sad to see the shock when they realize they gave their time and youth to manipulators. When GOD chooses a person, young or old, it's with fearful admonitions toward holiness and obedience. To HIM. YWAM has little transparency or accountability. The Bible also gives us clear instructions on the requirements for ministry. Paul tells Timothy to let no one despise his youth, but commands Titus that he appoint elders according to a rather severe set of characteristics. May time and truth expose YWAM and all organizations like it. "A little leaven infects the whole."

This is great info to share with those trying to understand YWAM and also how it is run. I encourage students and parents to visit each base before they go or send someone to YWAM. If you want to pursue YWAM for yourself or another young person - this video is worth your time and consideration. Thank you for this message Philip! We are big fans and supporters of YWAM and try to help as many young people go through a DTS as possible.

“Say, ‘He is Allah, the One, Allah, the Eternal Refuge. He neither begets nor is born, nor is there to Him any equivalent.'” (4) “Say, ‘He is Allah, the One'” (1) This is the name of the One who is unique in His essence, as well as His attributes, and the One who is unique in His words and actions. There is no partner with Him, and no one shares in this. “Allah, the Eternal Refuge” (2) As-Samad, meaning the Perfect in His attributes, the One whom creation is in need of, while He is free of need. Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) said: “The Master who is perfect in His dominion, the Great who is perfect in His greatness, the Noble who encompasses all types of honor and perfection. This is Allah, glorified and exalted, and this is His attribute that is befitting only for Him.” “And there is none comparable unto Him” (3) Meaning, He has no offspring nor parents. Allah is not a father to anyone, nor does He have a son. Exalted is He above what they attribute to Him. And Allah is not born to perish, nor is He created, but rather this verse came in response to some who attributed offspring to Him, so it refutes their falsehood and cuts off their path of fabrication. “And there is none comparable unto Him” (4) Meaning, He has no spouse. This verse is interpreted as Allah, glorified and exalted, having no equivalent, no likeness, and no similitude. There is no one comparable to Him in His uniqueness, eternality, and His exclusivity in His attributes, names, words, and actions. How does Surah Al-Ikhlas Equal One-Third of the Quran? Scholars have different interpretations regarding the Hadith that states Surah Al-Ikhlas is equivalent to one-third of the Quran. There is a question about whether this refers to the reward earned or the meanings encompassed. The first opinion is that Surah Al-Ikhlas equals one-third of the Quran in terms of reward. Whoever recites it will be rewarded as if they recited one-third of the Quran. The second opinion is that it equals one-third of the Quran in terms of the types of meanings it encompasses. This is because the Quran contains narratives and rulings related to monotheism, and Surah Al-Ikhlas concisely summarizes these aspects.

Humanists love humanity, human rights and progress of humankind and society in efforts to achieve collective peace and are not brainwashed cult worshiping sheep who kill in the name of God and secretly or openly think they’re better than others and think that they’re going to have a better life after they die. That’s the difference. Now piss off.
